Author Terms

Welcome to Knigdom

Knigdom is a platform for authors and publishers to offer electronic books to readers. These rules explain how to create an author account, submit books and receive earnings.

Your account

Provide accurate registration and payment information and keep it up to date. Keep your password secure. You may use an author name, pen name or publisher name on your public profile. If you publish on behalf of another person or organisation, you must have their permission.

Your books and publishing rights

Your books remain yours. Publishing on Knigdom does not transfer ownership of your copyright to the platform. You must own or have permission to publish all submitted material, including the text, translations, illustrations and cover.

By submitting a book, you give Knigdom permission to store its files, display and promote its listing and cover, and deliver purchased copies to authorised readers. This permission is non-exclusive: you may publish elsewhere where your other agreements allow it.

Do not upload pirated books, unauthorised copies, misleading content or harmful files. You remain responsible for material created with AI tools and for any permissions needed to publish it.

Preparing your book

Upload your book in PDF and/or EPUB format. Include an accurate title, description, author name, language, cover and price. Select only formats that are actually included in your uploaded files.

Choose relevant categories and tags. Page count and reading age are optional. Check that your files open correctly and match the description, and keep a backup of your work.

Review and publication

Every new book is reviewed before publication. We may ask you to correct or complete your submission. A book may be declined or removed if it fails to meet the platform’s requirements or if there is a concern about its content or publishing rights.

You will receive a notification when your book is approved and published. Submission does not guarantee acceptance, sales or a particular review time.

Commission and author earnings

Knigdom’s platform commission is 19%. Stripe payment processing fees are included in this commission and are not deducted separately from the author’s share. The author’s share is 81% of the applicable sale amount.

For example, where the amount used to calculate the commission is £10, Knigdom receives £1.90 and the author receives £8.10. The treatment of any sales tax in this calculation will be specified in the final version of these terms.

Refunded or reversed transactions may reduce the earnings associated with those sales. The author’s share is not a promise that no personal income tax is payable by the author.

Withdrawals

Authors request withdrawals manually through their Knigdom dashboard. The minimum withdrawal amount is £5.

Funds will be credited to the author’s designated account within five working days of submitting a valid withdrawal request. Working days exclude Saturdays, Sundays and UK bank holidays.

Before requesting a withdrawal, make sure your payment details are correct and any required payment-provider verification is complete. Contact us through the website if a payment has not arrived within the stated period.

Readers and downloads

Purchased books are supplied for readers’ personal use. Readers do not acquire the right to resell, publicly share or redistribute your book.

Purchased files are provided without a download-count limit or expiry under the platform’s current access arrangements. Readers should also keep their own downloaded copy.

File problems and refunds

If a reader reports a missing, damaged or incorrect file, you must help resolve the problem and provide a corrected file where appropriate. Refunds and payment disputes are handled through the platform’s customer support process and applicable customer rights.

Where a purchase is refunded or reversed, the corresponding author earnings and platform commission will be adjusted to reflect that transaction. These rules do not introduce a blanket ban on refunds for downloaded books.

Removing a book or closing an account

You may contact us to request removal of a book or closure of your author account. Removing a listing stops future sales once the request has been processed. It does not automatically cancel completed purchases or existing readers’ access.

We may restrict an account while investigating a content, rights, payment or security issue. Legitimate outstanding earnings remain subject to the applicable settlement and transaction adjustments.

Support and acceptance

Contact Knigdom through the website for help with submissions, account access or payments. Include the relevant book or transaction details.

By selecting “I have read and agree to the Author Terms”, you confirm that you have read and accepted these rules. Any future material changes will be communicated to affected authors.
